Due to serious issues with her visaMabel had to leave Ecuador right after the CONAL Extreme in Cuenca.

The burocracy in this country is unbelievable. Everything was just because she left the Bolivia with her ID and got a stamp on an extra paper. Trying to figure all the visa issues out once in Ecuador didn't help and she had to leave the country in order to be able to get her official stay.
So our MCVP Finance was for quite a while in Colombia and worked as good as possible from there.

On her way back on the boarder to Ecuador there was no way she could get in receiving her official visa and with it a legal stay. Just because the stamp was on an extra paper and not in her passport!! Seriously, I can't believe that SH....!!!

There was no other option to her but leaving Ecuador!

We are all extreamly sad about how it turned out and are so so sorry for you!

For sure we will miss you a lot in the MC, the sunny person you are always giving your jokes to the best and cheering people up with your smile.

Dear Mabel, we will miss you not just as MCVP Finance but much more as a really good friend!

You and Bolivia will always be in our memories, our hearts!

You will always be with us Mabel!

On the 30th of December 2006 the MC in Ecuador received a really sad notice: the termination of Luigi!

Due to personal reasons the MCVP Corporate Development 06/07 put his work for AIESEC in Ecuador down.
His notice hit us really hard and we are really sorry about losing a great seller - I know he doesn't like to be called "vendedor"=seller but that's what he was doing and with great success.

Hereby the MC says a big "THANK YOU LUIGI" for everything you have done in AIESEC! It was a big pleasure having worked with you.
You always contributed highly to the team performance, were a passionate AIESECer striving for excellence and always cheering the team up with your italian humor.
For the future we wish you only the best and hope you meet your personal and profesional goals.

For sure we gonna stay in touch since you still stick around in Guayaquil!

Happy New Year

In Ecuador we have the tradition to burn a "monigote" at midnight. The monigote represents the old year. It is a doll of wood, clothes, etc. It can be a president, a celebrity, movie, etc anything one would like to burn.
Unfortunately in Switzerland we don't have any kind of cool customs like that - but we had snow and I just enjoyed being back home!!
Seriously after having been away for more than 8 months it was just the best seeing my family and friends again!!

As I am Ecuadorian, of course I did my monigote (actually my father bought it). Here I am with my mother family with our monigotes ready to burn them. But first, we kicked them for all the bad things or things that we didn`t like of 2006 to say them... Goodbye!!! and welcome the new year!!!

Merry Christmas

As we work in Guayaquil, we played with the
LC "The secret friend". For many weeks we
had to give little gifts, such as, chocolate, candies,
cookies, cards etc to our secret friend without this person knows who gives the gifts.

Here the MC is happy as we received many gifts.

It was cool for me (Chiripa) after some weeks in Quito to come to the office and see that my secret friends gave me many chocolates (I love chocolate!!!). Thanks my secret friend!!!
I have some suspects. jejeje

We were supposed to eat dinner together for Christmas. Instead of that, we talked a lot and we finished eating ice cream. We are a team that brokes paradigmes as we didn`t do what it is common :)

We must come back! It`s delicious.

MC vacations 2006

I just had amazing holidays here in Ecuador!

My beloved sister Barbara came to visit me and together we did sightseeing in Guayaquil, went to Quito, the center of the world and Otavalo - the most famous indigenous market of Ecuador. At the picture we see Barbara as the Queen of Amazonas... jejejee The rainforest was just the best - eating all kind of dead and living things. We also explored the devil's nose "Nariz del diablo" (picture below).
It was just wonderful and so great to spend my vacations con mi ñaña!

SDL - SDG 2006 in Manta

After some years, we have again two Leadership Development Seminar in the year and for the first time a parallel event the SDG Seminario de Desarrollo Gerencial. The LDS is 4 dayss and is for member who finish their induction meanwhile the SDG is 3 days and is for members who have finished their induction and are in taking responsibility or leadership role stage.

The opening plenary of the LDS the song of the event was I`m so excited!!! the roll call was brought IC!

The facilitator of LDS in the photo: Patricio (LCP Quito), Janeth (VP ER LC Quito) and Mabel MCVP$. Giovanni couldn`t go to the event, he was really sad because it was his first LDS as MCVP PD. But he was sick and had to rest and stay at home.

The best pre meeting!!! We did the SDG pre meeting Charlotte, the chair she is trainee from Germany, Dalal and Chiripa. Franchesca and Carlos couldn`t be with us to enjoy the pool and the cool sun, but they were with us in the conference.

Life always brings surprises! Sometimes we decided something and then we have to make a decision in our life that changes the path of it.

Carlitos Fernando, MCVP External Relations, had to leave his position in the MC due to his responsibilities at the University after 5 months in the MC. He has been always in Loja preparing and doing his thesis which is his priority and goal to graduate. He planned to finished his project before the mc term, but his director extended the time and made him to do more things.

We trully understand he had to be in his city and it was a very hard decision for him. We know that he applied to the MC with a lot of passion to work and to achieve a lot of goals for AIESEC in Ecuador. Also, He put a lot of motivation and effort in this work, during the conferences, etc!

Thanks Carlitos :) for everything you did in the MC and for AIESEC in Ecuador. We recognize your contribution. Everybody knows that you always gave the best of yourself.
We wish you the best, we will never forget you. We are sure you will have success as you are a capable and a great person.

I came to Quito for sales. It was my first time as MC in Quito.

It was such a wonderful experience. Quito is a beautiful city!

Here I am with Ximena. During the week, we met to plan a social entrepreneurship pbox. I had a meeting with Adriana the Ashoka coordinator of Ecuador to talk about the opportunities of a pbox.

IC - International Congress in Poland 2006

IC what is there to say about IC?
Acutally only one word: WOW

To let you know a little bit more about it, Priscila and Giovanni were the lucky ones that could go to Warsow in Poland to represent Ecuador.
To Priscila it was the first time going to Europe and that's why we decided to go to the study tours in Krakow some days before the event even started.
Krakow is a really beautiful city and we enjoyed it a lot exploring it together with lots of AIESECers.


Then IC started with a huge opening plenary!
4 hours roll calls till all the 97 countries and extencions were through! It was incredible!
The greatest experience though to me was realizing what AIESEC is doing!
600 people from 97 countries, all kind of skin colours, all types of languages all kind of people were together, sharing ONE vision, ONE dream - PEACE AND FULLFILMENT OF HUMANKIND's POTENTIAL!

I always believed in AIESEC (obviously) but to see this really happening had such a great impact in me! It was just incredible!!!

NSM 2006 Pre-meeting

In this photos we look very happy. We are exited because it`s the National Strategic Meeting pre meeting MC and LCPs. The first time where incoming and current MC with the LCPs worked together. For the first time they see us as MC. We didn`t talked former ceeder-lcp, former nst-lcp. We talked about how we will work, what they need, etc. It was a nice day
The pre meeting was in Loja.



Priscila, in @ I am known as Chiripa, my nickname: Before I entered in AIESEC, I haven`t never been in Loja. Now in AIESEC I have been there 7 times!!! I can go to anywhere by myself and I don`t need a guide. Actually I am LC Coach of this incredible LC from which I have learnt a lot!

Slovak Night

In Salinas we had Slovak Night, it was interesting to know more about this beautiful country . Risho MCVP X 05-06 is from Slovakia, right now he is the MC in Venezuela

Transition

The transition was in May, it started on 2nd May in Quito with a city tour! Then it was in Guayaquil. The whole days we were in meetings ,every day, sometimes we had hours for personal time. Meanwhile, we were preparing the National Strategic Meeting, our first national conference as MC where we will be recognize legally in the asambly ;) In this photo Ivan (MCP 05-06) is explaining a session

Everything wasn`t only work, we also got fun. Some nights we did different activities. We had Ecuadorian, Italian, Swiss, Canadian, Slovak night. We learnt about each culture where each mc member comes from, we cooked, we talked.
Also we went to the beach! Yes! the most expected. We cooked together, we got fun, we swim in the sea. We passed a good time together.

In the breakfast, we were cooking bolones, a tipical dish. It is mashed green banana with cheese. Nobody knew how to prepare bolones, but they were delicious. Finally, in the table! waiting the others :)

The first time members of AIESEC in Ecuador knew who are the MC Team 06-07, the announcemnt!!!. In that time there was not MCVP$ yet, some months later we had one. Then, you can see the MCVP$ announcent. Finally, we are complete!

Despues de vivir emocionantes momentos en las elecciones del Congreso nacional 06 en Salinas, donde pudimos conocer a los candidatos a comite nacional 2006 -2007, lideres internacionales y nacionales que tomaron el reto de postularse, porque creen en el gran sueo que es AIESEC Ecuador y en el potencial de su toda su gente.
